I hold the SSCP certificate as well and agree with Bill's assessment. Would it be a good idea to e-mail ISC2 and inquiry about more marketing for the SSCP. I was up on ISC2 website but really didn't see an e-mail address for their marketing or PR department or maybe I'm just too high up on my soapbox that it wouldn't really matter. -----Original Message----- From: Bill Quire [mailto:quire2001@hotmail.com] Sent: Friday, February 04, 2005 1:23 PM To: CISSP-Discuss@yahoogroups.com Subject: RE: [CISSP-D] Re: SSCP vs. CISSP True. But, that's because of a lack of good marketing and education about the significance of the specificity of the SSCP for system audit areas over the "general knowledge" of the CISSP (IMO). ISC2 needs to do better marketing. Current report from them is that there are 800 SSCPs worldwide vs. 35,000 CISSPs, so they focus all their marketing on the CISSPs--even to the extent of not even mentioning the SSCPs--for which I have taken them to task. Seems the better way (IMO) to expand the pool of SSCPs is *not* to treat them like 2nd-class members. Cheers! Bill Yahoo!
