Good day Doug, Great posting. It is obvious that some of the controls will not play a single role and attempting to assign them to a single category does not make sense as you have explained very well. There is only one portion of your message that I must disagree with you: Shon Harris did not invent categories such as Deterrent. This category has been in the CBK for a long time, it was in some of the HISM books, in the one day ISC2 presentation, and in the ISC2 seminar material as well.
