Sameer,
Thanks for inputs.Just to update you the Risk
Assessment was conducted internally by my Network Team
and security gaps identified and escalated to few
specific Senior V.P's .The solutions were identified
and a Group study done within my Network Team to see
how well the new technologies fit into our system. We
went as far to test the demo versions of some products
which are extensions of our existing Network Security
setup employing Checkpoint NG,Trend Micro Anti-Virus
Wall, Norton AV (Enterprise Edition version 9.0) for
Desktops along with ISA Server and Cisco PIX Firewall.
The only new element i have suggested is to deploy CA
"e-Trust" IDS on which also we have done staging
tests and deploying Active Directory hosted on Windows
2003 Server to publish Group policies vide across our
Intranets thereby controlling security at its most
basic level i.e Users .
Right now we are still running our Domain on NT4
O.S with PDC & BDC.Today i showed the presentation to
my VP and he was quite happy. The only thing he was
advised me to rework on are two basic things :
a) Vision Statement
b) A punch line to sell this BS7799 initiative to my
CEO who is more of Business savy.
I am working on this and hope to get there
Will keep you updated
Wajahat
