Hi Wajahat:

This is a loaded question and there are no short cuts. If you are looking for
slides that you can recycle and put the presentation together quickly - I am
afraid you won't find any as each organization is unique.

It would depend on how large an organization is and what are your current issue
that you must address and why - is it to meet SLAs, or to meet mandatory and
regulatory requirements. You also need to make a business case as to how this
improvement will help/improve/benefit your business. What vendor solutions have
you chosen and why. Would the budget cover not only the cost of equipment but
also technical training of IT staff involved. Would the implementation require
additional resource(s) to take the full advantage of the proposed solution.
What will be the ROI.

Once you have determined the answers to the above and many more questions as my
list is by no means comprehensive - then you can go to SANS.org and look for
some more information regarding IDS etc. Also go to various vendor sites and
look for case studies that support your case. In addition to that it always
helps if you can Qoute Gartner, Burton, Meta or Giga - so search for
analysis/articles on analysis.

You will need to do lots of homework and research! This should provide you with
all the amunition you need to get the results you want as well as ideas for the
best way to organize your material keeping in mind about how your CEO likes his
presentations - is he strictly a business type, techy type or a combination of
both.

After your home is done, then sit down and prepare your own slides.

My two bits!

Good Luck!
