Subbarao,

You are correct.

PGP generates a random session key to be used as the symmetric key for
use with the selected algorithm (IDEA/AES/3DES). This is then used to
encrypt the message text. This session key is then encrypted using the
recipients public key. Both are included in the email and sent. The
recipient then decrypts the session key using their private key, this
is then used to decrypt the message.
