[CISSP-D] Hello! Security Newbe....

Subject: [CISSP-D] Hello! Security Newbe....
Date: Sat, 14 Aug 2004 15:03:57 -0000

I am a seasoned telecom software engineer. My forte is in the
call control/processing and signaling areas, although I have
a very good working knowledge of the entire operations of
class 4/5 switches...

It would be a very good thing if I can get security certified.

Couple of questions though: As the PSTN in itself is inherently
secure (the SS7 signaling network), I really have no experience
with the security aspect of the PSTN. Any ideas in this area?

What would be the best way to study for the CISSP? Documents?

If a get this position, should I get some practical experience
for awhile and at the same time be studying for the CISSP
before I take the exam?

Thanks and I look forward to getting as lot of help from this
group!

Ray
